BEVERLY HILLS KIDS S1 EP8: "When Love Finds Someone Home"
Annette's dream may finally come true after all...
Doris Bach was at her home office in her mansion in Beverly Hills, California, when there was a knock at the door; Doris opened it, and it was a social worker who had worked with Doris on bringing the five children to her mansion. "Why, hello," Doris exclaimed, "glad to see you again! What brings you here to my place now?"
The social worker lost no time in answering this to Doris: "I have come here today because I want to address something to you...I have worked with the people at the orphanage, and then the DNA services, as well as private investigators, on finding the parents of one of the children that you are taking care of now, a young girl by the name of Annette. Now, it has come to the conclusion, Ms. Bach, that we have finally found the parents of Annette, and they would like to be in touch with you so that we could have Annette reunited with her parents so that they could finally take her home with them!"
"Why, that's just wonderful!" Doris exclaimed, "It looks like Annette would finally get to meet up with her parents that she suddenly became separated from all of those years ago!" The social worker then told Doris, "Yes, Annette will finally have the best reunion with her long-lost parents that she had been dreaming about for the past several weeks!" Doris then said to the social worker, "I shall tell Annette all about this when she wakes up...she would be so very happy about this news!"
An hour and a half later, Annette woke up; when Doris told Annette about the news that she would be reunited with her long-lost parents, she became sorrowful, saying to Doris, "But I don't want to leave this gorgeous place! It is so very cool here! And I especially do not want to leave my very best friends in the whole wide world!" Doris replied, "Now, Annette, honey, I know that it is going to be so hard to leave this old Beverly Hills Mansion, and you yourself have been dreaming about wanting to be reunited with your mom and dad for quite some time!"
Annette told Doris, "Well, there is something that I want to speak to you about, Doris...You see, when I was born to my mother, my father became an alcoholic and has been neglecting me ever since I was a baby. My mother then took the role of both mother and father to me when I was just 5 years of age. However, the week after I turned nine, law enforcement officials took my father away, but they also took my mother away, too! And with me being left all alone, those law enforcement officials took me away to the orphanage, where I was until you brought me here as well as the rest of my best friends!"
Annette's words then gave Doris some thought; at first, Doris knew that Annette would be happy here in the Beverly Hills mansion, while Annette continued to dream her dream about reuniting with her parents with the hope that her dream would one day come true. But now, Doris learned that Annette was afraid to be reunited with her parents after all of the turmoil that she had encountered as a very little child; yet, Doris became determined that she could prove Annette wrong when she re-introduces her to her parents.
A few days before Annette's reunion with her long-lost parents, Doris and the rest of the Beverly Hills Kids threw a farewell party for Annette; everything was ready for this farewell celebration-The cake, the food, and everything else-but the guest of honor was not here, and they began to get worried!
Brittany told Doris, "Hey, where is Annette? She is supposed to be having her reunion with her mom and dad tomorrow, and she is nowhere to be found!" Doris herself was getting worried as everyone else; yet, Doris knew where to find those kids as she would in any predicament: Doris would find those kids hiding in the closet! So with that, Doris went upstairs to the closet in the kids' room. She opened the door, and just as she had suspected, Doris found Annette sitting all alone in the kids' closet!
At first, Doris would be furious over the fact that Annette would be hiding in the closet to avoid this reunion, but somehow, Doris became a much kinder woman to Annette. Doris told Annette, "Now, what's this about hiding in a closet, hmm?" Annette replied, "Oh, Doris, I am so terrified...I don't even know if my own father had changed or not, let alone my own mother! How will I know?! How will I know if my father is either still an alcoholic or finally off the bottle for good? And how will I know if my own mother will still love me after she recognizes me?"
Doris smiled at Annette and told her, "Well, there is only one way to find out...I will be right beside you when you meet your parents the day after tomorrow, okay?" As Doris smiled at Annette, Annette then got over her fears as Doris wrapped her arms around her, and then smiled back at Doris.
A little later, Doris and Annette returned to the farewell party; the kids made gifts for Annette as she was about to leave the mansion to be reunited with her parents. Then, the rest of the Beverly Hills Kids tell Annette that as she leaves and that no matter what happens, she will always be a Beverly Hills Kid to them. Then the kids finally shared a goodbye hug with Annette.
And now, today was the day that Annette would be leaving; Doris accompanied Annette by the hand. Once Annette finally sees her parents, her eyes brightened-They were much different than what they were before, and best of all, they were clean and sober! Annette then ran and hugged her parents; Annette's father said to her, "I am so very sorry that I have mistreated you so very badly...my wife and I finally realized how important you are to us, and we both know that our lives are never complete without you! So, are you finally ready to go home with us?"
Annette smiled as she nodded; Annette joined her parents on their journey home, and as she waved goodbye to both Doris and the rest of the Beverly Hills Kids, she knew that her time as one may be over, but Annette will always be...a Beverly Hills Kid.
